Died around 305 AD
at Cumae, Naples, Italy Pre-Congregation Saint Daughter of ambitious Roman functionary. Denounced by her betrothed to the tribunal during the persecutions of Maximianus, she suffered by being burned, boiled in oil and finally beheaded.
Resisted fierce temptations by the Devil to recant, hence her frequent depiction as a maiden leading a dragon in chains.
Relics at Cumae, Naples and in Brussels, Belgium. Well attested to as a historical figure, and listed in early church calendars.
