Born around 100 at Nablus, Palestine
Died 165
St. Justin converted to Christianity at age thirty. He had a very sharp mind, and was highly regarded as an intellectual. He opened a school in Rome where he practiced apologetics. He was beheaded for refuseing to burn incense and sacrifice to the gods; a detailed record of his fateful interview with the prefect Rusticus survives. I especially love St. Justin's words, "No one who is right-thinking stoops from true worship to false worship". |
