Beatified by Pope John Paul II on Sunday, May 26th, 2002.
All three beati were Assumptionist priests, killed by firing squad in Sofia, Bulgaria on November 11th, 1952 in the central courtyard of the prison, at 11:30 PM. Theirs was the anti-statist crime of being priests. All three were very well known for their ability to teach the young and inspire religious vocations. All were likewise remembered by all of their students, fellow religious and prison companions as being faithful and perservering in the face of imprisonment and persecution. |
